NOVEMBER 2000

Arizona Sunset

View from our rig

This update will be mercifully short! ;-)

We arrived at Cotton Lane RV Resort, located a few miles west of Goodyear, on November 1.

We've been enjoying staying put for awhile and, of course, I've been enjoying having Internet access so I can surf to my heart's content. Earl is back golfing with the Villa De Paz Men's Club on Wednesday mornings plus golfing at some of the other courses around the area. We've both been busy taking care of seeing doctors for our annual physical exams -- except for dentists and eye doctors; we decided we'd go to Palomas, Mexico (south of Deming, New Mexico) for those two exams after we leave here early next year.

We've visited with my mother who is recovering nicely from her recent hip replacement surgery. My sister, Randi, prepared a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at her house this year and we all had a very nice time.

We've been to Buck and Phyllis Draughn's house for dinner and a game of dominoes (we stayed at their place in Woodinville this summer when we attended the annual picnic for Earl's high school graduating class). Other friends, John and DeAnne Cooper (DeAnne is another of Earl's high school classmates), just recently moved down here from Washington State and they had a get together at their place where we had dinner and played more dominoes.

And, of course, we've been making the rounds of the restaurants we miss when we're traveling -- Takamatsu, a Koren and Japanese restaurant; Japan Express, a Japanese "fast food" restaurant; and Schlotzsky's. Although we do occasionally run into a Schlotzsky's in our travels, we don't do so nearly often enough. Haven't made it to some of our other favorite restaurants yet -- like Lilly's, a Mexican food restaurant in Glendale.
